Applying to the IDT Program

Application for admission to graduate degree study should be filed, along with all supporting documents, at the Institute's Admissions Office.

These are the steps to submit your application for the IDT program:

1. Completed application for graduate admission and payment of the application fee.

2. Graduates of colleges other than the Institute of Technology must request that official transcripts all undergraduate and post-baccalaureate work be sent to the Admissions Office. Transcripts of Institute of Technology graduates will be secured by the Admissions Office directly from the registrar.

3. Two letters of recommendation must be submitted to the Admissions Office by each applicant applying for admission to degree study. If possible, preference is placed on a letter from a current/former workplace or practicum supervisor and a letter from a faculty member.

Once the Admissions Office receives all of an applicant's required documents, the credentials of the applicant are forwarded to the divisional graduate review committee, and a recommendation is presented to the dean. The final decision regarding admission to a degree program is transmitted to the applicant by the Director of Admissions. After formal admission, a student is assigned a faculty program advisor. A program of graduate study is planned and filed in the school/department office and in the Admissions Office.
